In Memory Of
David A. Andersen Memorial
Walleye Shootout
The annual team walleye tournament held at Lake of the Woods during the Warrior Rally, in memory of Warrior co-founder and lifelong fisherman David A. Andersen.
Tournament date
August 15, 2026
One day. Two flights. One champion team.
Why We Fish It
A tournament in Dave's memory.
David A. Andersen was the heart of Warrior Boats. He believed the best fishing boats are built by people who actually fish, and that belief is the reason Warrior exists.
Dave passed away on August 8, 2016. That same year, a handful of Warrior owners gathered at Lake of the Woods and ran the first Shootout in his honor. The tournament has happened every August since.
The Shootout isn't about a check or a trophy. It's about the walleye Dave chased, the lake he loved, and the community he helped build. Every boat on the water that weekend is either a Warrior or fishing with one, and every team is fishing for the same person.
"Gone but never forgotten."
