Canadian Aaron Wiebe is known across there and the northern U.S for his somewhat irreverent and always funny, engaging, and informative approach to promoting fishing through his widely followed Uncut Angling YouTube videos and Facebook page.

Today, Wiebe and Melrose, Minnesota’s Warrior Boats are teaming up to help introduce more anglers to Warrior’s line of family friendly, rugged and seaworthy craft.

“Aaron will be our marketing specialist and brand representative in Canada to help us promote Warrior across the Great White North,” said Chuck Barth, president and co-owner of Warrior. “He brings both a wide knowledge of fishing, and makes fishing fun in his videos and on Facebook. He’ll help us get the word out about Warrior quality to his followers, and we’ll be working so close together, he’ll almost be wearing Warrior underwear!”

Since September 2011, Wiebe has entertained, informed and has sought to bring his love of fishing and the outdoors to a new generation of anglers online. He’s caught the attention of hundreds of thousands of new converts to fishing for everything with fins and gills in the region.

He’ll now be doing so in a new Warrior V2090 Backtroller, powered by a Yamaha 250 SHO, and equipped with Garmin electronics. You’ll be seeing him in his new ride featured on his shows, at tournaments throughout Canada and the northern tier of U.S. states, and at other events to get the word out about Warrior’s ruggedness, dependability and family friendly versatility.

“I’ve always been a massive advocate of tiller boats, and the 2090 is known across the industry as the king of tillers, so owning one is a natural progression,” Wiebe
said. “Backtrolling is my favorite way to fish, and the 2090 is built specifically for that.”

“Warrior is not a commonly used boat here, but it is ideal for the large lakes across the region; Lake Winnipeg is the same size as Lake Erie,” Wiebe added.

Warrior’s great reputation for taking weather will come in handy especially on some of the area’s northernmost water, he added. My favorite places to fish are Lake of the Woods, Lake Winnipeg, Clearwater, Wekusko, Sturgeon Bay, Reindeer, Tobin, and Diefenbaker. You’re often at the mercy of the weather and can only expect two or three days of fishing on a five-day fishing trip. With the Warrior hull though, that turns into four or five days of fishing on a five-day trip.”

Barth said that by showing off that combination of rough water comfort, great list of standard equipment like a 47-gallon fuel tank, aerated livewell, a bow cooler, 14 foot long rod storage shelves, combined with rod lockers to hold up to 28 rods, Wiebe will be reaching an entirely new market. Currently, Warrior’s only Canadian dealership is in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

AIM Weekend Walleye Series Announces Warrior Boats

As A Presenting Sponsor for the 2018 Season

Anglers Insight Marketing LLC (AIM) is proud to announce that Melrose, Minnesota-based Warrior Boats is again a presenting sponsor for the 2018 AIM Weekend Walleye Series.
“Ever since the AIM Weekend Walleye Series held its first tournament, Warrior and its angler owners have been there to provide support as AIM brought our ground-breaking Catch-Record-Release™ format to the forefront of tournament angling,” said Denny Fox, AWWS National Tournament Director. “One of AIM’s original owners was the late David A. Andersen, who believed in Warrior and the Weekend Walleye Series so much, as a co-owner of Warrior he was among the first to offer Warrior as a Presenting Sponsor of the series.”
Andersen’s legacy continues in his son, Adam, a frequent AIM competitor and winner of the first David A. Andersen Memorial Shootout in 2016. Other son Kent is Warrior’s national sales manager. This year, the Memorial Shootout is set for Aug. 11 on Minnesota’s Lake of the Woods.

Warrior again will provide a new V1898DC boat powered by a 150hp Yamaha four-stroke engine, to be awarded to the winning team at AIM’s National Championship June 1-2 at Wisconsin’s Chippewa Flowage, near Hayward. Tournament headquarters is Treeland Resorts.

Warrior’s reputation as one of the driest, toughest boats around stems from its five basic reasons to choose the brand:

  1. 2. Warrior’s Smart Trolling Keel™ is designed for maximum boat control and to limit bow drift in wind;
  2. 3. Warrior’s Pro Tiller™ Hydraulic Remote Steering enables optimum response at higher speeds than similar tiller-model boats. That means you can put more horsepower onboard than other makes, and maintain control even in rough water;
  3. 4. Unlike some boat builders, Warrior does not use wood to build its hulls. Result: unmatched durability and outstanding resale value; and
  4. 5. Warrior works with Ez Loader to build its own line of trailers made expressly to fit its boats, with extras like a swing tongue, disc brakes, boat tie-downs, LED lighting and Tuff Kote Paint.

“For the type of water walleye anglers often find themselves in, Warrior just can’t be beat, and AIM is fortunate to have them as a Presenting Sponsor,” Fox said. For registration information and a schedule of all 2018 AIM Weekend Walleye Series events, visit AIMfishing.com Anglers Insight Marketing LLC (AIM™) is a unique tournament organization created and owned by many of the most accomplished and recognizable professional walleye anglers, along with others who share the mission of advancing competitive walleye fishing and making it sustainable into the future. Avid Fishermen Save Maple Lake Boat Company

MELROSE, Minn. (WCCO) — There’s a booming boat business in the land of 10,000 lakes, thanks to four men who’ve brought Warrior Boats back to life.

“Just opened! Everybody’s busy! Keeping people going,” said co-owner Chuck Barth.

Barth and his business partners are bringing back an old state favorite. Warrior Boats closed down in Maple Lake about three years ago. The boat building business was a casualty of our bad economy.

Barth and the other men started talking about the idea just a month after the company closed down. They ended up buying the Warrior name, its fiberglass molds and its tools. They hope future generations can enjoy these boats as much as they have.

“It was too good a boat to let go onto the horizon to never see again,” said Barth.

This avid fisherman decided he really wanted another Warrior boat, but there was no way to get one after the company closed.

The new plant opened a month ago in Melrose, Minn., a small town along Interstate 94, about a two-hour drive northwest of the Twin Cities. It employs nine workers.

“All the great attributes of the old Warrior is the new one, except a little bit better,” said co-owner Al Leinen.

The company is bringing back 15 models, either tiller-steered or steering wheel boats. They’re designed to flare the wake away from the boat and into the water.

About 30 boats have been sold so far. Dealers in a half dozen states are working with the company.

The owners plan to expand their operation in the future and actually add a second building at the Melrose location to allow them to manufacture more boats.

“Our goal is 600 boats a year eventually,” Barth said, including combination fish and ski boats.

He and his business partners want to expand on the Warrior name in the future and keep a Minnesota original floating in its home state for years to come.

Won for dad: Adam Andersen Takes First David A. Andersen Memorial Warrior Boats Tournament

You can’t make this up. Not even in Hollywood.

Adam Andersen, son of the namesake of the first David A. Andersen Memorial Warrior Boats Shootout, walked away from the field on Minnesota’s Lake of the Woods Saturday, taking first place barely two weeks after his dad’s untimely passing, using the Warrior model his dad helped re-design when he helped bring the company back from the brink in 2011.

AIM Weekend Walleye Series/Warrior Boats National Boat Shootout May 29-30

Sixteen teams will come. Each the best in their division. Each with an equal chance.

But, as the axiom goes, on any given day, any team can beat any other team. And, that’s true in the AIM Weekend Walleye Series/Warrior-Yamaha Shootout.

So when those “Sweet 16” get the green flag on Lac Qui Parle lake in western Minnesota, on that Friday and Saturday, only one will walk away the victor of the richest tournament of its kind.

Warrior Boats returns to AIM as a Presenting Sponsor in 2015

Take an angler-owned company building boats made for family fun on the water, whether your niche is fishing or water-skiing.

Combine it with a one-of-a-kind tournament series tailor-made for the average guy or gal that promotes fishing while protecting the resource. It’s no wonder that Warrior Boats and the AIM Weekend Walleye Series are marketing partners, said Kent Andersen, national sales manager for the Melrose, Minnesota manufacturer of serious fun on the water.
